Unicredit, new branch in China in Guangzhou

The Italian bank has obtained authorization from the Beijing authorities to transform its Guangzhou representative office into a branch.

New bank office in China for Unicredit, which obtained authorization from the Beijing authorities to transform its representative office of Guangzhou at the branch. Initially, the new branches will deal with foreign currency services, including deposits, short, medium and long-term loans, advances and bill discounts. Responsibility for the branch has been entrusted to Jonathan Lin, who has been operating in the other Chinese branch in Shanghai for two years. UniCredit, present in China for 30 years, also has a representative office in Beijing and supports more than 400 customers in the country.

“With a potential of 500 million consumers, China represents the most attractive and at the same time the most complex country for European companies to approach. Many of our European customers are already active in China, both with production platforms and with commercial structures”, commented the managing director of the Bank, Federico Ghizzoni, who inaugurated the new branch today.

About an hour after the close of the markets, the Unicredit share on the Stock Exchange gains just under two points.
