UniCredit accompanies Linea d'ombra as Main Sponsor in this new major exhibition dedicated to impressionism: 120 works by the protagonists of an extraordinary artistic season.

In Treviso, at the Santa Caterina Museum, this splendid exhibition will open in a few months which, from 29 October 2016 to 17 April 2017, will tell the story of the historical and artistic development of impressionism, mainly through paintings, but also photographs and wood engravings , coming from private collections and important international museums. We are very pleased that this important artistic event is being organized in Treviso, a city in which the UniCredit Group is particularly rooted and active.

For the passion that Marco Goldin has dedicated over time to the study of these artists and for the attraction that Impressionist painting continues to exercise on the public, the exhibition "Stories of Impressionism" can truly be considered the most appropriate narration to celebrate the 20 years of activity of Linea d'ombra.

Since 2011, UniCredit has supported the Linea d'Ombra exhibition projects because it shares its objectives of disseminating knowledge and experience of art. “UniCredit has always paid particular attention to culture and art, recognizing their fundamental role in the social and economic growth of the communities in which we operate – said Federico Ghizzoni, Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit. This exhibition involves us in the impressions that the artists have captured from reality, in its most dynamic and changing aspect. An idea of continuous renewal which is also that of UniCredit where change and innovation are the keywords.”

The 120 works on display highlight the historical development of Impressionism from the background of the XNUMXth century to the early XNUMXth century, in the richness of its themes and cultural juxtapositions. Among these, the influence of Japanese art on many European artists through the famous wood engravings by Hiroshige and Hokusai. This part of the exhibition will also feature around ten polychrome woodcuts by Hiroshige belonging to the UniCredit Art Collection, usually exhibited at the Museo d'Arte Orientale in Turin.

The "Stories of Impressionism" exhibition is flanked by other important artistic events in Treviso, always curated by Marco Goldin. With the support of these exhibitions of great refinement and quality, UniCredit renews its commitment to art for the people and in the territories in which it is present with its business activity.
