Unicredit, the general director Roberto Nicastro leaving the bank

The general manager of Unicredit is on the way out – He confirmed this himself indirectly in an interview with “Sole 24 Ore” in which he neither confirmed nor denied the rumors circulating in this regard – Nicastro's future could be still banking (there are international banks interested in him) or institutional.

“I think it is important to always seek the adrenaline rush of new challenges, to give innovative and simple solutions to complex problems, especially where human factors count, in addition to numbers”. These words by Roberto Nicastro, in an extensive interview given to today's "Sole 24 Ore", were enough to make it clear that the current general manager of Unicredit is preparing to leave the bank.

Moreover, faced with an explicit request for clarification from the financial daily on his imminent exit from the bank, Nicastro limits himself to saying "I neither confirm nor deny" which has the flavor of a confirmation.

After 18 years, one of Unicredit's most dynamic managers is therefore ready to change and get back into the game. Everything will probably be made official at the next Unicredit board of directors meeting on 5 August, in which a profound federal reorganization of the bank should be launched under the guidance of CEO Federico Ghizzoni.

What will Nicastro do in the future? Perhaps he will remain in the banking world, but more likely abroad given his experience in the reorganization and take-off of Unicredit's presence in Eastern Europe and in particular in Poland, but he could also be called upon to assume important institutional positions. Soon everything will be known.
