Unicredit and sustainable development: green financing of 1,5 million for Nias from Puglia

UniCredit descends again into the field of Sustainable Development supporting this time the NIA extension, an Apulian company specialized in the manufacture of armchairs and sofasa financing of 1,5 million euros .
The operation, assisted by the 80% guarantee from the Guarantee Fund for SMEs, handled by Mediocredito Centrale on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Developmentis within the scope of the plan “Certified Sustainable Future Financing".

This programme, together with the Finanziamento Futuro Sostenibile programme, includes a wide range of loans and was launched by UniCredit in July 2021 to support companies that want to improve the sustainability of their business, in line with the action plan launched by Piazza Gae Aulenti in support of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) to support the country's recovery by leveraging the return to consumption and digital and ecological transformation.

For Nias in particular, the funding will be used to support investments to improve theenvironmental impact of the production cycle and is conditional on the achievement or maintenance of goals of pre-established sustainability and energy efficiency: in this specific case, the Apulian company is committed to achieving a Sustainability-ESG rating through the Paris-based ESG certification company EcoVadis, and to improve it in the years to come.

Once the improvement objective has been achieved, UniCredit will award the company a rewarding of the rate with respect to the conditions normally envisaged for these operations; the final assessment of the improvement will be certified by an independent third party, in this case always represented by the same rating agency.

Over 80 sustainable loans disbursed by Unicredit since the beginning of the year
