Unicredit and Snam: agreement on the energy requalification of condominiums

Subsidized credit for those intending to carry out energy redevelopment interventions in condominiums. This is foreseen in an agreement signed by Unicredit and Tep Energy Solution, a company controlled by Snam.

The agreement establishes that Unicredit can provide condominiums with credit facilities on projects proposed by the ESCo (Energy Service Company) TEP in the field of energy efficiency and anti-seismic improvement.

The projects subject to the "facilitation" include the construction of "thermal coats", the replacement of fixtures and the redevelopment of thermal power stations, activities that fall within the "CasaMia" package offered by TEP, which proposes to finance the interventions with savings on consumption and with the transfer of the tax credit.

From a financial point of view, the bank led by Jean Pierre Mustier will be able to grant unsecured loans with a duration of up to 10 years at a fixed or variable rate to condominiums for the payment of the works, which will also be able to leverage the Ecobonus deductions (up to 75% of the amount of the works) and Sismabonus (up to 85%). "Thanks to this solution - explains a joint note from Snam and Unicredit - condominiums will be able to benefit from agreed rates and enjoy certain and limited times for the conclusion of the loan applications, making use of specific products and procedures for the sector".

“Energy efficiency and anti-seismic consolidation interventions – comments Cristian Purchasepace, Snam's Senior Vice President Energy Efficiency Development – represent a great opportunity for condominiums, especially in light of the advantages offered by the transfer of the tax credit. Thanks to these solutions it is possible to save up to half of energy consumption, improving the comfort of buildings and increasing their value.”.

"The energy and structural requalification of buildings - declares Remo Taricani, Co-CEO Commercial Banking Italy of UniCredit - is an issue of absolute importance in a country, ours, in which the average age of condominiums and blocks of flats in general is rather elevated. With agreements with large sector operators such as Snam, UniCredit intends to make available suitable credit instruments which, together with the deductions provided for by the legislation, allow all interested parties to carry out significant but certainly convenient interventions".
