“We have a unique opportunity in front of us – he declared Niccolo Ubertalli, Head of Italy of UniCredit – to start a new phase for our country. National and European institutions are making financial resources available like never before. This calls us to a great responsibility: to allocate these resources well to support Italy's growth, with particular attention to investments with a view to sustainability, digitization and the relaunch of competitiveness. Since the beginning of the pandemic we have supported 91 thousand families with 6,6 billion and over 139 thousand businesses with 16,6 billion through the moratoriums, and around 193 thousand businesses with 21,8 billion through guarantee schemes during the pandemic period. The recovery plan is the challenge for the relaunch of our country that we want to take up as UniCredit. Our role has been key in the context of the pandemic, in support of businesses and families, and will be even more so for the restart".
