Unicredit with Cdp and MiPAAF for the development of the agri-food sector

The Call for subsidies will open on January 29th. Unicredit's commitment to the agri-food sector continues

Uniredit has adhered to the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (Cdp) and Ministry of Policies agreement
agriculture, food and forestry (MiPAAF) for granting subsidies to businesses
adhering to supply chain and district contracts.

Thanks to the agreement signed on Monday, the lending banks will be able to provide the beneficiaries with a loan consisting of a subsidized portion from the revolving fund for business support (FRI) and a portion with bank funds.

The objective of the collaboration is the realization of programs of an interprofessional nature
national relevance, envisaged by the supply chain and district contracts and to improve relations
market, guaranteeing positive effects on agricultural production.

The beneficiaries of the concessions in favor of supply chain and district contracts, as defined in
Announcement published on the website of the Ministry and which will open on 29 January 2018, are:

– companies as defined by current legislation, also in consortium form, companies
cooperatives and their consortia, as well as businesses organized in business networks, which operate
in the agricultural and agri-food sector;
– agricultural producer organizations and associations of producer organisations
agricultural recognized under current legislation;
– companies set up between subjects exercising agricultural activity and businesses
commercial and/or industrial and/or distribution workers, provided that at least 51% of the
share capital is held by farmers, agricultural cooperatives and them
consortia or producer organizations recognized under current legislation. The
capital of the aforementioned companies may be owned, to an extent not exceeding 10%,
even from large agricultural or commercial enterprises.

At a national level, the agri-food sector generates a turnover of 50 billion euros e
it contributes 2% to the total added value (Istat data), confirming an anti-cyclical trend
thanks to a growth of 3,5%, from 2008 to 2016, against a decline of 13,6% in the sector
industrial.

Joining this new initiative confirms Unicredit's role in supporting the sector
agri-food and/or agro-energy and for the economic and social development of the districts.

Unicredit has launched Agribond 2, a portfolio of loans (tranched cover) for a total of 300 million euros intended for agricultural businesses guaranteed by ISMEA. The portfolio guarantee is a tool that allows companies to obtain credit more quickly and at more favorable conditions, without further guarantees
