Unicredit: Board follows the Palenzona affair

The UniCredit Board of Directors, which met yesterday in Milan, "confirmed its active commitment in following the developments of both the criminal proceedings and the internal audits" relating to the affairs of 'some members' of the board, in this case the affair involving the vice-president of the Bank, Fabrizio Palenzona, under investigation for alleged financial crimes aggravated by article 7 (abetting the mafia). This is what we read in a note released by the institute, which, however, never names Palenzona directly.

Unicredit confirms its active commitment to following these events "in order to always be in a position to express its assessments". The note specifies that the BoD "was informed of the results of the examination carried out by the audit limited to documents and resolutions to avoid any interference with the investigations in progress".
