Unicredit, Bucsa new head of economic research in the EEC area

He will start his new role from 17 November –

Dan Bucsa, starting November 17, will be the new head of economic research at Unicredit for Central and Eastern Europe.

Bucsa will replace Lubomir Mitov, who is leaving the position to move to Washington, where he will continue to perform an advisory role for Unicredit.

Bucsa, who will be based in London, will be responsible for macroeconomic research for the CEE area and will report to Erik F. Nielsen, global head of economic research for the group.

Commenting on the appointment, Nielsen said: “We are delighted to have Dan Bucsa take on the position of Head of Economic Research for Central and Eastern Europe. He has in-depth knowledge of the region and is well known among the international clients who come
of interest to the CEE area. We are confident that Dan's promotion will allow us to continue to have the best economic research for the CEE region.”

For the past five years, Bucsa has been working as a senior macroeconomist for UniCredit's CEE area in London, after moving from UniCredit Bank Romania. Before entering the private sector, he taught at the Bucharest University of Economics and worked in the
Department of Forecasts and Macroeconomic Models of the National Bank of Romania, where he collaborated in the development of forecasting models to set inflation targets. She holds a PhD in macroeconomics and a master's degree in finance from the Bucharest University of Economics.
