Unicredit "is not evaluating liability actions against Alessandro Profumo or other employees". This is what we read in a note from the bank, which denies the press rumors about possible measures within the Bank in reference to the alleged tax evasion linked to the Brontos operations.
As part of the investigation, the Milan prosecutor's office has already seized 245 million euros from the group. Unicredit then reiterates "its conviction regarding the correctness of its work and that of its representatives and employees, both in office and out of office".
Furthermore, "any other position or indiscretion that moves from different assumptions is totally groundless, highly damaging to the reputation of the bank and its representatives and employees and is therefore categorically denied".
