A new horizon for PCs: the Horizon desktop computer

It is not light: it weighs more than 8 kilos and has a 27-inch screen (that is, the diagonal is 69 centimeters). And it is normally placed horizontally on the table, even if it can be raised like a television. Where's the news? It lies in the fact that this "IdeaCentre Horizon Table" is the first 'table computer', intended to be used simultaneously by the whole family. An 'interpersonal' PC, “multi user, multi touch, multi mode”, which recognizes commands from 10 different fingers at the same time, which allows games, access to the Internet, work on Excel or Word at the same time.

The Chinese Lenovo, which according to some estimates has become the world's largest PC manufacturer this year by displacing HP (it recently bought the PC division of IBM), is going to present its Horizon at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, which begins Tomorrow.

Dee Kumar, the head of marketing at Lenovo, said, “We want to take 'social' to the next level. Smart phones and tablets allow for one-on-one interaction, but it would be nice for a family or a whole group to get together at home and use this new tool to share."
