A very small Count damages the whole of Italy

Conte thinks he can better pursue the malcontents by standing in opposition. Even the League has had one foot in and one outside the government for some time. But voters are fed up with astounding promises

A very small Count damages the whole of Italy

Mario Draghi is not going to make us the daily target of the political-electoral games of the parties. After Giuseppe Conte's tear, the prime minister decided that the trust that held up the pact of national unity on which the government was based was torn apart by vote in the Senate.

The parties are all in fibrillation. THE 5 stars, who are the most disbanded, have taken responsibility for a break in the majority by not voting for a decree that serves to contain the costs deriving from expensive energy and inflation. But also the League has long been with one foot outside the government. Both parties have seen that Meloni, according to the opposition, is gaining support, and therefore they want the hands free to be able to chase the malcontents which, he said of many pollsters, are very numerous. In this situation, the Government would not have had the opportunity to implement a program that was in the least sense.

But is it really enough to be in opposition to gain support? If a crisis opens for inconsistent or ridiculous matters, difficult to warm the hearts of Italians and get voted. Giuseppe Conte as head of the 5 Stars he appears as the "sor tentanna", he would like to play the part of the government and at the same time ride the revolutionary spirit of the origins of the movement Cricket and Casaleggio. He pronounces laughable words like when he refers to the "consistency" of the 5 Stars, coherence that he himself does not know what it is having presided over a government with the League and a second completely opposite with the Democratic Party, then ending up supporting the Draghi government. He presented Palazzo Chigi with a little homework with nine chapters that contain wrong things or at best, titles of a project that needs to be carried out. In fact, what does it mean to invoke support for the disadvantaged sections of the population? Should we find work for everyone, or should we hand out more benefits?

To create more jobs, you need growth, not subsidies

And how do we create more jobs? We try to make our economy more competitive, or do we set standards such as taxable labour? And the minimum salary what is it supposed to be used for? Some intellectuals such as Domenico De Masi have had the cheek to say that the 5 Stars are the only party that has dealt with the poor, that supports an effective social policy such as the basic income and the dignity decree, in his opinion, demonstrate . Evidently old age has not brought wisdom to De Masi (known for his essays on creative idleness), but the intoxication of supporting the most extravagant positions.

Il Draghi government is the only one for several years now that has placed as priority the theme of growth. All our problems derive from the fact that we haven't grown for over twenty years, the weight of the public debt, the stationary nature of wages, young people who cannot find a job, or who do not find it suitable for their skills and aspirations. And Conte, but also Salvini, what are they doing? They try to boycott reforms like those on competition and investment that could get us through this inflationary situation without causing our interest rates to rise too much that would choke any chance of growth by plunging us into a recession. So goodbye work, and goodbye wage increases!

And even on a social level, the Draghi government certainly cannot be blamed for carelessness given that since the beginning of the year the government has already spent over 30 billion to contain inflation and help the weakest sections of the population.

The Italians have perceived some elements of this, so much so that the trust they place in Draghi is still high. Of course, if the various television presenters weren't satisfied with making politicians say only their generic intentions on more work and more wages for everyone, but asked "how" they count on reaching such a goal, perhaps many citizens would not fall into the trap of amazing promises of those who have shown that they are then unable to keep them. Or, which is even worse, if it tries to keep them, it will create the conditions to plunge us into a financial crisis so serious as to nullify any gift given by the State to citizens.

Putin would be the real beneficiary of the government crisis

Since it is a sin to think badly, but it is almost always right, as Andreotti said, the fact that Conte declared the detachment of his movement from the Government on a ridiculous pretext such as that of the incinerator in Rome (plants which, moreover, have all the European countries and many regions of Northern Italy), suggests that there is much more behind this move. As will be remembered, Conte's escape from his responsibilities began a few weeks ago with the request to block the shipment of Italian weapons to Ukraine, in contravention of the commitments we have undertaken at NATO and EU headquarters. A suspicious pacifism and delayed burst.

Certainly the government crisis in London, the fogging of Macron who lost the political elections, the uncertainties of German politics, had given Draghi a role far greater than the actual weight of the country he leads. Getting rid of him too could be a victory for Moscow which would further weaken the unity of Europe. In this way the Tsar would be pushed not towards peace, but towards the intensification of the war on the ground and towards the total gas cut to all European countries in the fall. It will be the cold that will push public opinion in the West to end support for Ukraine. This is Putin's hopes. Maybe they won't come true. However in the West there is always someone ready to lend a hand.

At the moment it is not known if we will go to vote in October or February next year, but in the meantime it would be good to start clarifying the real knots to untie, not to accept the demagogic outbursts of certain politicians, to put citizens in a position to distinguish "donkey braying from the real projects for the rebirth of our country" .

  1. Revenge (of Conte) should be served cold, at the first opportunity. Indeed in this way Conte "kills 2 birds with 1 stone": Draghi and Di Maio
