Starmer's visit to Kiev

Starmer made a surprise arrival in Kiev, in his first visit as British Prime Minister, to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and sign a bilateral treaty celebrating 100 years of partnership with Ukraine. “We will never abandon you“, the Labour Prime Minister reiterated on the sidelines of the signing”. “The United Kingdom and Ukraine will sign a historic 100-year partnership to deepen our security ties and strengthen our bond for generations to come,” reads a statement from Downing Street.

Crosetto in Ukraine

Minister Crosetto, also in Kiev for an official visit to Ukraine, carried out a series of institutional meetings. He met the Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Herman Smetanin who – explains the Defense – “thanked Italy for having assured its help for the legitimate defense of Ukraine and its people”. “It was an opportunity for dialogue on a technical collaboration also in the defense industry sector – Crosetto said -. The reconstruction of the country, at the end of the conflict, will be of fundamental importance and Italy can contribute with the tools and excellence that our country has at its disposal”. In the afternoon the minister will also meet with President Zelensky.
