The European Union has approved i tariffs on Chinese solar panels. Indeed, the EU Council has given the green light to the Commission's proposals to definitively impose anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures on imports of panels from China. The duties, which will last 2 years and will be applied from 6 December, will only involve Chinese exporters who do not recognize the agreement reached with the Commission last July and put into practice since August.
The agreement between the EU and China on panels provides for a minimum price of 56 euro cents per watt and an annual limit of 7 gigawatts imported. The agreement involves a hundred exporters of photovoltaic panels, which supply 60% of the European market.
