La seasonally adjusted industrial production of the European Union at 19 it fell in August by 0,5% compared to the previous month. As regards the EU 28, the figure shows a drop of 0,3% compared to July 2015. These are the estimates published by Eurostat.
Industrial production also fell sharply in Italy, where a drop of 0,6% was recorded.
These results testify to a slowdown compared to the month of July 2015 when instead industrial production had increased by 0,8% and 0,4%, respectively in the Eurozone and in the EU.
Finally, the statistical office of the European Union records that, in August 2015 compared to August 2014, industrial production increased by 0,9% in the euro area and by 1,9% in the EU28.
