EU improves current account surplus

In the third quarter, the figure reached 35,6 billion euro, up on the surplus of 30,3 billion recorded in the same period last year

EU improves current account surplus

In the third quarter the current account balance of the European Union recorded a surplus of 35,6 billion euros. Eurostat communicated it today.

The result is up compared to the surplus of 30,3 billion recorded in the same period last year, but is lower than the figure for the second quarter of 2013, when the surplus had reached 37,5 billion.
