EU, Germany is the country that pollutes the most

Despite efforts to reduce emissions, Berlin produced 2013 million tonnes of CO760 in 2, 2% more than in 2012 – On average in the EU, emissions fell by 2,5% – Denmark also pollutes more, Estonia, Portugal, France and Poland – Double-digit carbon dioxide declines in Cyprus, Romania, Spain and Slovenia

EU, Germany is the country that pollutes the most

With 760 million tons of CO2 produced in 2013 from the combustion of fossil energies, Germany is the nation that pollutes the most in Europe. The amount of carbon dioxide introduced has grown by 2% in one year. The data is from Eurostat, the statistical institute of the European Union.

Berlin's primacy clashes with the efforts made by the Federal Republic to reduce CO2 emissions, which represent 80% of climate-changing gas emissions.

While on average in Europe CO2 emissions fall by 2,5%, other 5 countries of the Old Continent are in the opposite direction: Denmark (40 million tons, +6,8%), Estonia (18 million, +4,4 .46%), Portugal (3,6 million, +345%), France (0,6 million, +290%) and Poland (0,3 million, +XNUMX%).

The sharpest reduction was instead recorded in Cyprus (5,5 million, -14,7%), Romania (63 million, -14,6%), Spain (224 million, -12,6%) and Slovenia (12,9 .12 million, -XNUMX%).

In total, the 28 states of the European Union produced 3,35 billion tonnes of CO2 in 2013, against 3,43 in 2012. Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy, Poland, Spain and the Netherlands contribute 77% of the total emissions.
