EU, commercial car sales collapse in May

In the EU they decreased by 17,4%: the greatest decrease since 2009 – According to Acea data only in Great Britain was there an increase of 10% – The collapse was sharp in Italy (-42,2%).

In the Community market they have been sold 152.960 commercial vehicles in May. According to the data provided by Acea it is a 17,4% decrease: the biggest decline since 2009. Only in the United Kingdom was the trend reversed, with an increase of 10%. One of the biggest crashes has occurred in Italy (-42,4%). Also negative were Germany (-13,6%), France (-22,1%) and Spain (-27,4%). 

Light commercial vehicles, up to 3,5 tonnes, recorded -18,5% to 124.057 in Europe and -41,9% to 10.400 in Italy.

considering the period from January to May 2012, decline was 11,8% in the European Union. In this case, the United Kingdom also passes into negative territory, with -6,2%. The smallest decrease was recorded in Germany (-4%) while among the major EU economies, Italy remains the last with a -37,9%. 735.993 vehicles were registered in the period.
