Since 27 February, the company – which has 35 years of experience in crisis management behind it – already around 150 people have been evacuated from the companies to safer territories.
“On February 12, already twelve days before Russian President Vladimir Putin launched his offensive we, issued a warning recommending complete evacuations to our customers' employees in Ukraine,” he said Frank Fantozzi, Senior Security Advisor of International SOS.

Protect personnel for each emergency threshold

“We act as advisors to our clients to help them prepare for all eventualities and build the resilience of their workforce based on various emergency thresholds as they arise. And the related actions to be taken from time to time to reduce exposure to risk, whether it is a risk to health or safety. Protecting our staff is our priority, he explains Peter Di Come on, Commercial Director Italy of International SOS.
Among the most recent actions have been the health one linked to Covid 19 and the war in Monzabico.

Three scenarios with different needs

In the current situation "we have three essential scenarios with different needs" explains Fantozzi who has thirty years of experience in the special departments of the Carabinieri as well as having been director of the Italian office of Europol in The Hague
“The first scenario, the most current, is obviously the relative one to Ukraine where companies ask us for assistance for the evacuation. Through local providers, and with our dedicated teams, when possible, we organize the movement of people to safer territories. Or for those who prefer to stay in the area, we provide all kinds of medical and security assistance, including psychological assistance.

The second scenario is the one relating to the situation in Russia. In this case, at the moment we advise companies to evacuate foreign personnel and their families or to relocate them to safer places, but in this case the path is much wider and passes through Middle Eastern countries, given the limitations in place .

The third scenario concerns the neighboring countries with respect to the theater of the crisis itself, such as the Poland, Moldova, Romania. We have already been working with our client companies for some time to prepare escalation plans dedicated to their specific situations with all the predefined actions, preparatory to a possible evacuation.
Our teams are already on site and are preparing in case of further escalation of the crisis. We are preparing to redistribute the population towards safer areas”.
