Ubi, green light to the increase from 400 million

Green light by a very large majority from the shareholders of Ubi Banca for the 400 million capital increase planned for the acquisition of the new Banca Marche, Etruria and Carichieti. The institute's extraordinary shareholders' meeting, after five hours of work on Friday, approved the operation with the "yes" of 99,8% of the shares present at the time of the vote, representing 39,9% of the capital. The recapitalization obtained the explicit support, among others, of the Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo Foundation, the institute's first "local" shareholder with 5,9% of the capital.

Meanwhile, the ordinary shareholders' meeting closed the 2016 financial year, approving the coverage of the loss of 830 million and the distribution of the dividend of 0,11 euro per share. As for the trend of the business, the managing director Victor Massiah underlined that in the first months of 2017, “loans held up well even if we still don't see an important rebound from the crisis. The good news is the further reduction in flows of new problematic credit, which are even lower than pre-crisis levels”.
