Ubi, the curtain falls and the merger in Intesa Sanpaolo starts

With Friday's shareholders' meeting, the era of Ubi ended definitively and the incorporation into Intesa Sanpaolo began with the landing of over 2,4 million former Ubi customers on the IT platform of the bank led by Carlo Messina

Ubi, the curtain falls and the merger in Intesa Sanpaolo starts

The curtain closes on Ubi Banca: from Monday 12 April the Lombard bank will become part of the Intesa Sanpaolo group to all intents and purposes and also for its 2,4 millions of customers – between individuals and companies – a new banking relationship begins, directly under the parent company led by Carlo Messina. Particularly important is the so-called IT migration, i.e. all data, including those of online banking apps that will flow from one bank to another: it will concern 2,6 million current accounts and even 15 employees. The customers of Ubi "Top Private" will instead flow into Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking.

Meanwhile, the Ubi Banca app will be deactivated and you will be able to access your online account only through the Intesa Sanpaolo app, using a new customer code provided by the previous app and creating a new PIN. Then for i accounts that will migrate from Ubi Banca to Intesa Sanpaolo will also change the codex Iban: credits received by Intesa Sanpaolo with the old bank details, including continuous ones (such as salaries and pensions), will automatically be directed to the new Intesa Sanpaolo details. The same will happen for domiciled debits: le domiciliation of utilities which will be automatically updated so that each pre-authorised transaction received by Intesa Sanpaolo is performed with the new coordinates. In any case, customers are invited to communicate the new Iban code both to those who arrange payments in their favor and to the beneficiaries of domiciled payments, to avoid any possible problems on the part of the other banks involved in the operations.

Le debit cards and prepaid cards Ubi Banca will continue to operate until 31 December 2021, or until their natural expiry, whichever comes first. In any case, before the expiry and in any case by 31 December 2021, customers will be contacted to sign up for a new card. During the migration weekend, customers will be guaranteed the possibility of using debit cards for withdrawals and payments up to a maximum of 250 euros per day. You can continue to use the Ubi Bank credit card until 31 December 2021 or until 30 June 2021 if the card is used mainly by signing the receipt, or until its natural expiry, whichever comes first.

Meanwhile for the Intesa Sanpaolo world another important novelty always arrives in these days: starting from the Serie A match Juventus-Genoa which will be played on Sunday 11 April in Turin, Intesa Sanpaolo becomes the Official Bank of Juventus. The group has in fact taken over the partnership agreement between UBI Banca and the Juventus club.
