Uber challenges Tesla: agreement with Chinese electric car manufacturer

New move by Uber, the app for booking taxis and chauffeured cars via smartphone, which after having annoyed taxi drivers all over the world is now preparing to step on the feet of Tesla Motors, the American giant of electric cars. According to reports from the Financial Times, Uber has partnered with the Chinese car manufacturer BYD and is considering an additional service with electric cars.

According to rumors, Uber drivers will be able to buy or lease BYD electric cars through Green Wheels USA dealerships. For the moment, Uber is testing the service in Chicago, where 25 BYD cars are in use (should rise to 200 by the end of the year). It is possible that the service will then be extended to other American cities.
