The marriage between finance and TV has not had an easy life. At least in Italy, because across the ocean characters like Jim Cramer, the "elf" who from the screens of CNBC directs the moods of millions of American investors with alternating luck, are real stars. But the Italian attempts, which flourished in the boom years of the Stock Exchange, have withered as the flow of money from disappointed investors towards Piazza Affari has weakened.
There are only a few left to hold the scene. Among these, the case of "Soldi" stands out, the program conducted by Cosimo Pastore which this year celebrates its tenth edition with a move from the frequencies of Odeon to those of 7 Gold, with a demanding location: from 23 pm to 15 pm on Sunday until at 0 and 45. That is at the end of Diretta stadium, the flagship broadcast of the nationally broadcast network (a daily audience of more than 2 million users), a fixed appointment for fans.
It will be interesting to see if the issues of the financial week (the one just archived and the one to come) will be able to keep part of the Sunday fans hooked to the video as well as the audience of aficionados of a program with a consolidated formula: three opinion makers (often including journalists of FIRST) in comparison with investment fund managers, directors of listed companies, university professors and experts in mortgages, insurance, real estate and so on.
There will soon be a field test: it starts on Sunday 16 September for 40 episodes until mid-July.
