Tourism, catering, culture: support the activities covered by the Green Pass

Italia Viva proposes that the activities most affected by Covid and those subject to restrictions due to the Green Pass be adequately supported with new interventions - But there is no time to lose: timing is everything

Tourism, catering, culture: support the activities covered by the Green Pass

Over 200 thousand infections have been recorded in our country in recent days, impressive numbers, which have prompted the Draghi government to proceed with a new narrow on the green pass. A passage that is certainly necessary but not painless, especially for those companies that had recently begun a recovery process. I think of the activities related to , To Catering, to the world of culture, conferences and fairs, just to name a few.

During the meetings of the control room first and then of the Council of Ministers, Italy Viva he asked that a decree be approved as soon as possible to support businesses in crisis and those affected by the new green pass decree. The government has given itself 10 days to carefully evaluate which categories are most in need of intervention. We will monitor timing and content.

The state of health of our economy has already been heavily compromised and it must be able to continue the rebound that has characterized the last few months. So the tightening on the super green pass and on vaccines is good, which will allow the activities to continue working and the refreshment measures and against the expensive bills are good to secure the activities and the covid checkout to protect workers in sectors at risk. We cannot allow already compromised sectors to suffer another setback which this time could be the definitive one.

From the beginning of the pandemic to today, Parliament has already approved numerous measures to support businesses and workers, including the self-employed, ranging from layoffs to refreshment and support decrees through non-repayable contributions up to bonus. We will adopt an expansive policy as long as there is a need.

We are aware of the situation. We know that the most affected sectors, in the context of commerce, are clothing and footwear (-17,1%), street vendors (-11,8%) and petrol stations (-10,1%) while in services the major losses are recorded, however, for travel agencies (-21,7%), bars and restaurants (-14,4%) and transport (-14,2%). Then there is the whole leisure chain which registers a real collapse overall with the disappearance of one company out of three. The loss of self-employed workers must also be added to the loss of businesses.

The picture is fragile and therefore the measures to contain the infections must be accompanied by support and refreshment policies. The timing is critical.
