The 'Yes' prevails in the constitutional referendum on presidentialism in Türkiye, wanted by Recep Tayyip Erdogan. 

With 99,96% of the votes counted in the country, the 'yes' was imposed with 51,22%, according to data released by Anadolu. on the other hand, the counting of the votes of the emigrants is still underway, in which the 'yes' is in the lead with almost 60%, when about half of the ballots have been scrutinized. It is therefore a narrow victory and the country is split in half.

The main opposition party in Turkey, the social democrat CHP, has announced that it will contest 37% of the votes cast in today's referendum on presidentialism, narrowly won by the 'yes' supported by Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan voted in a middle school in Istanbul for the constitutional referendum on presidentialism, which if approved could guarantee him a stay in power until 2034. "It's not just any vote, we have to take an extraordinary decision", he told reporters at the polling station.

More than 55 million voters are called to the polls. More than 1,3 million Turks abroad have already voted, with a record turnout for emigrants of over 45%. The referendum does not require a quorum, the outcome will be decided by a simple majority of voters.
