The leader of the radical Syriza party, favored in the upcoming Greek elections on June 17, has reiterated his willingness to remain in the eurozone - This however does not change his opposition to the austerity measures imposed by the Troika - However, it seems that the claims of the young politician are excessive.

Tsipras, if we win we won't abandon the euro

Euros yes, bailouts no. This is the political line of the radical Syriza party, favored in the upcoming Greek elections on 17 June. Leader Alexis Tsipras reiterated today in Berlin that if his party wins, Greece will remain in the Euro. "NWe will continue to stay in the Euro” if we win the elections, said Tsipras. What Syriza does not accept are the strict measures imposed by the Troika (ECB, EU and IMF). "I don't think that the rejection of the austerity program would mean a departure from the country from the euro area."

Unfortunately, however, it is not up to him to decide. In recent days, in fact, quite a few voices have reiterated that the EU prefers Athens to remain in the euro on the condition that it "respects its commitments" taken previously.

However come on leader of the G8 a several EU finance ministers they pointed out how Greece's exit from the euro would bring with it an enormous risk of contagion towards the EU and consequently towards the global economy. It will be thanks to politics and the art of compromise to find an adequate solution for everyone.
