“I am the 47th president of the United States,” Trump announced as he took the stage. Thanks to Melania and “supergenius” Elon Musk. “The economy will make a great comeback, I will not start wars but I will stop them”

Trump, the victory speech: "We won everywhere and made history. The golden age is coming for America"

"I am the 47th President of the United States", he has declared Donald Trump taking the stage at the Palm Beach Convention Center accompanied by his family and top campaign advisers. Melania and all of her children were present, including Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner. “I will fight for you every day until my last breath” and “It will be America's golden age“, he promised. Although the official results are not yet in, with Pennsylvania being awarded there is no longer any doubt. Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election and is currently one step away from conquering the 270 electors. Perhaps this is why an unprecedented Trump arrived on stage, who pronounced a strangely balanced speech, without the aggressiveness that has always characterized his public appearances, although with some over the top statements: "God saved my life for a reason," he said, referring to the attack he suffered in July. "I will govern with a simple model, promises made, promises kept," he announced.

“Trump: “We are the greatest political movement ever, it will be the golden age”

“America has never seen anything like it. We made history for a reason tonight, and that reason is simply that we have overcome obstacles that no one thought possible, and it is now clear that we have accomplished the most incredible political thing,” he said, adding. “We are the largest political movement ever",

“I want to thank the Americans for the honor they have given me. Every day I will fight for you, with every breath I take. This will be America's golden age. Americans will allow us to Make America Great Again,” he said, quoting his famous slogan “Make America Great Again.”

“We won North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, we’re winning Nevada, Arizona… we’ll have over 300 electors,” Trump predicted, reviewing all the swing states. We also won the popular vote, which is fantastic,” he added. For him, after all, it is the first time. In 2016 he had won the election, but by 3 million less popular votes than Hillary Clinton.

Trump: “America has given us a powerful mandate”

“We feel the love of the people in this room, we will make you happy, we will make you proud of your vote. There is a group of great people behind me. America has given us a powerful mandate: we have regained control of the Senate, which is fantastic,” and “we will most likely retain control of the House as well.”

Trump then continued with his thanks, starting with his wife. Melanie: “I want to thank my wonderful wife, Melania, who is once again First Lady. By the way, her book is #1 in America! She works so hard to help everyone. And I want to thank my amazing children.”

Thanks to Elon Musk

Among the thanks, the tycoon also included the one who was his greatest ally during the electoral campaign: Elon Musk, calling him “a supergenius”. “We have a new star, a star is born: Elon. He campaigned for me, and while he was campaigning he launched a rocket into space and brought it back. There was this rocket burning, coming back, and I couldn’t believe it. Musk is one of the most important people in the country. During the hurricane, nobody had internet connection, he restored it in an instant with starlink. We must preserve our genes".

Minutes earlier, the South African-born billionaire had exulted on X: “Tonight, the American people gave Donald Trump a crystal-clear mandate for change,” he wrote, adding: “the future is going to be amazing.”

Trump: “I will not start wars but I will stop them”

After the thanks, a reference to the theme that not all probability gave him the victory: immigration. “We’re going to do something special, something special. We’re the greatest country in the world. We will have to seal the borders, migrants must return, yes, but legally."

The tycoon also assured that as his was the greatest "comeback" in the history of the United States, also the economy will make an extraordinary “comeback” over the next four years. “I will govern with a simple model, promises made, promises kept. We will keep our promises. Nothing will stop me from keeping my word. To you, the people, we will make America safe, strong, prosperous, powerful, and free again. And I ask every citizen across our land to join me in this noble and just endeavor. That is what it is. It is time to leave behind the divisions of the last four years. It’s time to unite and we will try.”

“We are the party of common sense, we don't want wars, in 4 years we haven't had any wars.”I will not start wars but I will stop them. This is a huge victory for democracy.” It is with these words, and without specifying how he will do it, that Trump chose to conclude his victory speech, during which he never mentioned his Democratic rival Kamala Harris, nor the outgoing President Joe Biden.

Vance also speaks

On the stage of Palm Beach the time has also come for JD Vance, Republican vice-presidential candidate. “He is phenomenal, even when I ask him to go into the enemy camp, like on some TV, CNN, MSNBC. Many people back out, but he goes and destroys them,” Trump introduced him, then let him speak. “Thank you, Mr. President, this is the greatest comeback in American history. We will lead the greatest recovery in American economic history,” Vance said.
