Trump: squeeze on Europeans, checks also on passwords and mobile phones

Among the various measures include the obligation to hand over your phone to the authorities so that they can check what is inside, to reveal the passwords of your social networks and even an ideological test to try to understand the political views of who wants to enter the US.

After the muslim ban, the announcement with which Donald Trump decided to block entry into the United States to people coming from six Muslim-majority countries, now the US president is also targeting Europeans.

According to the rumors published today by the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg, the White House is currently busy understanding how and when to introduce increasingly stringent controls for tourists from countries such as France and Germany.

The "extreme controls" that Trump had promised during the electoral campaign could therefore soon become a reality, checks that would spare no one, including European allies.

The WSJ and Bloomberg sources explicitly mention France and Germany among the "friendly" countries for which a strengthening of security measures is expected, but the controls could also be extended to the 38 countries, including Italy, which participate in the Visa waiver program, (the program that allows you to enter the United States without a visa).

What measures are envisaged? Among the most controversial is the obligation, when applying for a visa and the waiver program, to hand over your phone to the authorities so that they can check what's inside. And again: the obligation to reveal the passwords of one's social networks and even an interrogation to try to understand the political opinions of those who want to enter the US.
