The war with China shows no signs of stopping: announce yourself new tariffs of 50 million dollars on 1.300 products. A few hours earlier, the US president instead made clear his intention to send the military to the border with Mexico, pending the wall promised in the electoral campaign to block immigration at the border.

NEW DUTIES ON CHINA

As for duties, US to impose tariffs of 25% on imports of Chinese goods. The list of affected products is very long: medicines, metals, industrial chemicals, industrial robots and telecommunications equipment.

At the basis of the decision there would be the alleged Chinese theft of industrial secrets. According to the US, Beijing violated American intellectual property of software, patents and technology.

A move that risks exacerbating tensions on the international trade front. It was indeed immediate the Chinese reaction which in turn announced tariffs on 106 different US goods ranging from cars to chemicals to soybeans. Value? Needless to say: 50 billion dollars. At the same time, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce "strongly condemns and firmly opposes" the new US tariffs and announces an appeal to the WTO.

Recall that on Monday, Beijing had iImposed duties on 128 products made in the USA for a total value of 2 billion dollars, reacting to the tariffs established by Trump on steel and aluminum.

The tariff war ballasts the European stock exchanges traveling in negative territory: Milan -0,9%, Frankfurt -1,1%, Paris -0,6%, London -0,4%.

MILITARY ON THE BORDER WITH MEXICO

“We will guard the border with the military. It's a big step." US President Donald Trump said this in reference to the southern border with Mexico, pending the construction of the wall promised to stop the flow of illegal immigration. “We can't have people who enter our country illegally, disappear and by the way fail to show up in court,” Trump added.


The words of the US president for the moment remain just another announcement, but Mexico City has requested formal clarifications the State Department and the US Department of Homeland Security. "I expect that in the next few hours we will have clarifications," said Mexican ambassador in Washington Geronimo Gutierrez. "It's certainly not something the Mexican government welcomes, but we expect to have a clearer idea."
