Trump censors climate research

More lenient environmental standards for cars, it seems, were just the beginning. The new US president Donald Trump, after finding a way to define himself as an "ecologist", asked the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to remove the page on climate change from its website. The news was released by Reuters, which cites two employees of the agency as sources.

The request may seem bizarre but it has a political purpose, considering that a large chunk of Trump's agenda plans to scrap most of the initiatives launched by former President Barack Obama, including those to protect the environment that include the signing of Cop 21 , the Paris Agreement on climate change.

This provision, however, will also have consequences from an information point of view, since the web page targeted by the White House contained numerous links to scientific research on global warming and a series of very detailed values on emissions.
