Trump to Merkel: "Immigration is not a right"

The US president also intervened on the issue of immigration: “It is not a right but a privilege. In light of the fact, Trump specified, that "we must protect citizens from the terrorist threat". A statement on which Merkel then pointed out: "We must protect our borders but at the same time look at the refugees who flee wars and poverty".

The Chancellor relaunched: "I hope they can resume negotiations with the United States for the TTIP free trade agreement with the European Union".
