Tronchetti: China an opportunity for made in Italy

Italy-China Financial Forum: meeting behind closed doors in Milan at the Pirelli Headquarters ahead of Sergio Mattarella's state visit to Beijing.

Tronchetti: China an opportunity for made in Italy

“China has a middle class that is growing and for which our products, not just those of the more classic Made in Italy, are an aspiration”. This was stated by the CEO of Pirelli, Marco Tronchetti Provera, in an interview with "Il Corriere della Sera", in view of the state visit to China by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella.

The mission had as a preview the Italy-China Financial Forum, which took place in Milan at the Pirelli headquarters and was attended by the Minister of Economy Pier Carlo Padoan, the Deputy Governor of Bank of Italy, Salvatore Rossi, and the major bankers and Italian and Chinese insurers.

The meeting took place behind closed doors, because "this way it's easier to say things as they are - explained Tronchetti Provera - China is a great opportunity for Italian companies, and vice versa of course, but in the past one of the great themes, or brakes, was that of investment guarantees. Today, meeting opportunities serve exactly this: to evaluate what Italian and Chinese financial institutions ask or can do to support companies”.
