US quarterly: GE does well, McDonald's slows down

The energy giant closed the third quarter with an 8,3% increase in profits (3,49 billion dollars) and a growth in revenues of 2,8% (36,35 billion) – In the same period the king of Fast food restaurants saw profits fall 3,5% to $1,46 billion, while revenues rose from $7,17 billion to $7,2 billion, slightly above estimates.

Revenues instead rose by 2,8%, to 36,35 billion dollars, just below analysts' expectations, who had estimated a figure growing to 36,94 billion.

General Electric explains in a note that it offset the difficulties in Europe thanks to solid demand in the United States and Asia. Jeff Immelt, number one of the group, has announced that there are no changes in the outlook, confirming goals of double-digit earnings growth this year.

During the same period Mc Donald's instead he recorded a decline in earnings that disappointed analysts, while the turnover surprised thanks to the expansion of activities abroad. The fast food king saw profits fall 3,5% to $1,46 billion ($1,43 per share) from $1,51 billion ($1,45 per share) in the same period 'Last year.

Analysts were expecting earnings of $1,47 per share. Turnover instead rose from 7,17 to 7,2 billion, slightly above the estimates, which stopped at 7,16 billion.
