Trevi Group, the Italian company that builds all over the world: new orders in the USA and Africa

Trevi Group increasingly world leader in underground engineering. The Cesena company, led by the Trevisani family, was born fifty years ago as a car park construction company, but now builds everything and all over the world. The turnover testifies to it, in constant growth and now close to reaching one billion euros; this is testified by the fact that now only 10% of business is carried out in Italy, where there is too much crisis (while in the USA 25%); still bears witness to the fact that the group has more than 40 offices worldwide, with a presence in over 80 countries.

A success certified by the consulting firm AT Kearney who placed Trevi in first place among the international companies that despite the crisis have recorded a growth rate both in terms of turnover and financial performance (at Piazza Affari the stock was the second best performer in 10 years).

“In the last two years the group has consolidated, diversifying its business, from underground construction to drilling (ports and oil platforms, ed.)," said Stefano Trevisani, CEO of Trevi, founded by his father Davide 50 years ago.

Further confirming this trend are the important new orders that the group has been awarded in recent days, and which are added to the already prestigious ones of the Ertan dam in China, the construction of the new Library of Alexandria in Egypt, of the Vasco de Gama bridge in Lisbon and above all of the new World Trade Center in New York.

The new orders come from the United States and Africa for a total value of over 75 million dollars. Trevi Icos Corporation, a subsidiary of the Trevi Group in the USA, was awarded a contract in Boston which involves the construction of special foundations for the construction of the residential tower called "The Kensington" which will rise on the original site of "Filene" in downtown Boston.

This project fits into the downtown Boston redevelopment plan promoted by Mayor Menino who successfully launched various other initiatives including: the Paramount Theater, the Boston Opera House and the Ritz-Carlton hotel. The construction site works have already started and the completion of the work is expected within the year 2012. The new residential complex, thanks to which 400 new jobs will be createdwill specifically provide for the construction of a 27-storey tower on a total area of approximately 44.900 square metres.

Still in the US, the Jacksonville (Florida) District of the Military Engineers of the Armed Forces of the United States awarded Trevis Icos South Inc. a contract for extraordinary maintenance work a “Herbert Hoover Dike” on Lake Okeechobee in Florida. The project involves carrying out some consolidation works on a section of the continuous diaphragm wall 990 meters long near the Port of Mayaca.

In Africa instead the Cesena family was awarded an important contract for the construction of the docks of a private seaport, intended to be used by oil companies.

And in Italy? "With us, these works become topical only when the country is hit by calamities, such as the flood in Genoa", CEO Stefano Trevisani explained to Panorama again.

But Trevi is also at the forefront of fight against pollution, thanks to the construction of subways. And in this case there are also plans for Italy. “We are developing the underground infrastructure of Rome, Naples and Florence, while abroad in 30 years we have participated in the construction of 50 metros. The next will be Copenhagen, Singapore, Algiers and Panama".

In short, while Italy trudges along, an Italian company is building the world.
