Trenitalia: summer timetable 2021 from 13 June

Over 150 more stops per day than the Frecce dedicated to summer tourist traffic, with 230 connections daily for the cities of art, the sea, the mountains. And new Frecciarossa night train Milan-Reggio Calabria. These are the main innovations of the Trenitalia-Ferrovie dello Stato 2021 summer timetable, which kicks off on Sunday 13 June. Added to these are new Intercity stops, around 1.200 regional connections towards the sea and 400 towards nature destinations, as well as around 1.400 connections to cities of art, for a total of over 5.800 regional trips per day in addition to the approximately 1.000 regional trains per day of Trenitalia Tper.

The innovations were presented today by the top management of the FS Italiane Group company, with the managing director and director Luigi Corradi. In addition to the new Milan-Reggio Calabria night Frecciarossa, other Frecciarossa Fast connections connect Lombardy and Calabria. There are many connections to summer destinations "with integrated train, bus, ferry and soft mobility solutions to discover the sea, the mountains, the villages and Italian cities of art". Confirmed the maximum occupancy of 50% on board the entire Trenitalia fleet, out of caution against the pandemic: despite this, overall two million seats are available every day on Italian trains.

For the summer Trenitalia has also focused on "capillary solutions" over the weekend: "Again the weekend sees us very often in queues - said the CEO Luigi Corradi -: use the train, there are very important solutions" which start from the "concept of going by train reaching and joining places where the train does not arrives normally: we have tried to give everyone the possibility of door to door, going to sign agreements that allow this intermodality". In the summer timetable "an effort was made to interconnect all our services in the best possible way - specified Corradi - we have reviewed the connections to allow Frecce and interregionals to integrate".

  1. When we talk about new timetables and mention the north-south connections, the references are all for the Tyrrhenian belt and the central-northern Adriatic, almost forgetting that Italy, thanks be to God, goes well on the coast as well Adriatic, for example up to Puglia, one of the very first tourist destinations for summer 2021, Puglia, which was awarded the "Best value travel destination in the world" award for the second time. National Geographic, Lonely Planet and the New York Times have once again considered Puglia to be the most beautiful region in the world… Others notice it… they forget or ignore it… ours… well…
