More trains per day, new routes and different times. Starting from 12 June Trenitalia renews its offer in view of the summer.
The most important news undoubtedly concerns the arrival of four new Frecciarossa routes between Rome and Milan. The first two from 12 June, the others from 31 July. The daily high-speed connections between the "two capitals" of the country will therefore rise from 86 to 90.
But the changes will not only concern this route. Two more new trips will enrich the Frecciargento offer between Rome and Verona (16 daily connections between the two cities), with continuations also to Bolzano and Brescia in the north and Naples in the south.
As regards the new routes, Frecciarossa Milano – Lecce is underway on Saturdays and holidays and, with the Freccialink, the possibility of connecting cities far from the high-speed infrastructure, such as Matera, Potenza, L'Aquila, Perugia and Siena with the main hubs served by the Frecciarossa and Frecciargento, thanks to an integrated Frecce + Bus service.
The Frecciargento and Frecciabianca trains will also stop in the main seaside resorts of the Adriatic and Tyrrhenian Seas during the summer.
Speaking instead of timetables, the number of journeys made by the new Frecciarossa 1000 will increase. Fs expects to reach 60 a day by the end of 2016. For the summer, Trenitalia also intends to give its customers the opportunity to travel on the Frecciarossa in an Executive at the price of the Business level and in Business at the price of the Standard and on the Frecciargento, Frecciabianca and Intercity to travel in first class at the price of the second class. The offer, called "Upgrade Summer" is valid for travel until 31 August.
For “Cartafreccisti Young” (under 26) and Senior (over 60). In July and August they will be able to travel every day, on all national trains and in all levels of service, except in Executive, with a 50% reduction on the basic price.
In August, special attention will be paid to those who want to take their dog with them on holiday, their four-legged companion will board Frecce and long-distance trains by paying a ticket: 5 euros.
