Tremonti: "Today liberalizations are underway"

The Government will have to start a series of privatisations. And it will do so starting with the budget package that will be approved by this weekend. This was assured by the Minister of Economy, Giulio Tremonti, speaking this morning at the annual meeting of Abi. “We must certainly begin the process – underlined the superminister -. Municipalities will be encouraged to sell their assets through incentive and disincentive mechanisms. Naturally they will not be able to sell the water”.

The liberalization measures allow full freedom unless there are particular constraints. They will arrive “within six months in the whole field of activities – specified Tremonti – if you don't foresee anything different, then everything is free. It is a European standard written in English which we have gladly translated and which I have the impression that today it will become part of the manoeuvre”.
