Buses, trams, subways stop from 21pm on Monday for 24 hours in all major Italian cities – Area C suspended in Milan.

The national strike proclaimed by the trade unions Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl Trasporti and Faisa-Cisal due to the non-renewal of the contract which expired in 2 is confirmed for Tuesday 2007 October: buses, trams, subways stop from 21pm on Monday for the duration of 24 hours, during which the employees of the railway services for cleaning, night-time accompaniment and catering on board the trains will also stop:

Milan, Turin, Florence, Bologna, Venice, Genoa, Rome, Naples, Bari, Cagliari and Palermo: these are the main cities most interested. In particular, in the Lombard capital the transport strike will begin at 8:45 and will last until 15 and then resume at 18 until the end of the service. Due to the strike, Area C in Milan will be suspended for the whole day. However, the ban on access and circulation within the Cerchia dei Bastioni for vehicles longer than 7,5 meters remains active, from 7.30 to 19.30, with the sole exclusion of those who are entitled to the derogation.

In Turin, the protest will last from 6 to 9 and from 12 to 15; for the subway from 6 to 9 and from 12 to 15; while for the suburban bus lines and line 19 of the urban service of the City of Turin from the start of service at 8 and from 14:30 to 17:30. In Rome, the transport strike will involve the public transport companies Atac, Cotral and Roma Tpl.

Therefore, buses, subways and the Rome-Lido, Termini–Giardinetti, Rome-Civitacastellana-Viterbo railways from 8:30 to 17 and from 20 to the end of service are at risk. The transport strike in Rome could also involve the night 'n' lines, in the night between Monday 1 October and Tuesday 2 October 2012.

Rome: from 8.30 to 17.30 and from 20 at the end of the service.
Milan: from 8.45 to 15 and from 18 at the end of the service.
Naples: from 8.30 to 17 and from 20 at the end of the service.
Turin: from 9 to 12 and from 15 at the end of the service.
Venice Mestre: from 9 to 16.30 and from 19.30 to the end of the shift.
Genoa: from 9.30 to 17 and from 21 at the end of the service.
Bologna: from 8.30 to 16.30 and from 19.30 at the end of the service.
bari: from 8.30 to 12.30 and from 15.30 at the end of the service.
Palermo: from the 8.30 17.30.
Cagliari: from 9.30 to 12.45, from 14.45 to 18.30 and from 20 to the end of the service
