It will be a Friday May 17 of passion: the union Usb (Basic trade union) called a day of unrest in the transport sector. The national strike concerns, in detail, the sectors of maritime transport, local public transport and rail transport, with the exception of airplane transport which will strike for 24 hours on Tuesday 21 May.
The staff of will cross their arms Trenitalia Group, Italian Railway Network and New Passenger Transport with, therefore, delays or cancellations for several convoys. They are excluded from the strike the rail transport of the Piedmont Region and the AMT company of Catania.
Il local public transport will stop for 4 hours in ways that vary from city to city. The strike of rail transport will 8 hours, precisely from 9 to 17. The maritime transport and the freight transport they will stop for 24 hours.
The workers will protest to “guarantee the effective exercise of the right to strike and against the continuous restrictive interpretations made by the national guarantee commission; for the renewal of the CCNL for the category which has expired for two years; against privatizations and for the nationalization of transport companies; for the health and safety of workers and users, against the increase in deaths in the workplace; against the system of indiscriminate procurement and for the re-internalisation of activities; for the definition of a real transport policy in Italy and for the start of round tables on the reform of the sectors; to obtain contractual policies that are truly national and enforceable for all workers that prevent economic and rights differences, for the same job; for the reduction of working hours for equal pay; for full employment and against precariousness”.
