Transport, Donnarumma (FS) on Pnrr funds: “10 billion euros spent out of 25 dedicated to investments”

Compared to Pnrr "about 25 billion euros of investments I am in charge of Railways" and to date "already about ten billion have been spent. The remainder is to be implemented between now and the end of the program, as foreseen in the 2026". So Stefano Donnarumma, CEO and general manager of the Fs Italiane group in a video intervention at “Como Lake” underway in Cernobbio. “This – he continued – is not an easy and trivial task. The orography of the territory is complex, we are characterized by the need to cross mountain ranges, so the development takes place through very important tunnels”.

In Italy "we are present on thousands of construction sites. This summer we had about 1.400 open construction sites, even with a fair amount of network usage and therefore with a bit of inconvenience for passengers. But this is necessary, because developing the network means developing corridors in Northern Italy, connect North and South with greater efficiency, work on safety and on punctuality which is connected to the structure and technological level” of the network. We also need to work on renewables”.
