At the end of a hectic day of consultations at the Quirinale, the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, summoned the outgoing Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte for tomorrow morning at 9:30 to give him the task of forming a new government based on the alliance between the Pd and Five stars. It will then be Conte himself who will define the ministerial formation and decide whether there will be one, two deputy prime ministers or none and define the program of the new government. Then he will dissolve the reserve and ask Parliament for confidence. But here are the positions expressed at the Quirinale by the main political forces
DI MAIO: THERE IS AN AGREEMENT WITH THE PD ABOUT COUNT BIS
“Today we told the President of the Republic that the M5S will not shirk its responsibilities,” said Luigi Di Maio at the end of very rapid consultations (the fastest, which lasted only a few minutes) with President Mattarella.
“In recent years our goal has always been to change”, underlines the pentastellato leader. “One of the great interpreters of this humanism was Giuseppe Conte, the Premier indicated by the 5 Star Movement in June 2018".
"We told the President that there is a political agreement with the Democratic Party so that Conte can receive the government mandate. His role makes us feel guaranteed about the continuation of the M5S policies. Our program is always the same, the one voted by 11 million Italians. We have started a job and we want to finish it. We will not run away," announced Di Maio, who then reveals: "There have been many controversies about my person and I was surprised that in such a delicate phase someone thought of myself rather than the good of the country. The League has offered me to propose myself as premier for the M5s and has informed me that it has also communicated it at an institutional level. I sincerely thank them but with the same sincerity I say that I am thinking of the good of this country and not of me”. Di Maio recalled the support given to Conte by Trump, the same support "forgotten by Salvini".
“If in the next few hours the President of the Republic should decide to appoint President Giuseppe Conte, I will ask that a homogeneous program be worked on. Only after having defined all the things to do together will it be possible to decide who will have to carry them out. It will be decided by the Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, together with the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella ". The number one of the 5 Star Movement did not refer to the vote on the Rousseau platform to which, according to what was stated up to a few hours ago by various party exponents, the government agreement with the PD should be submitted.
SALVINI: "DISCONCERT IN FRONT OF THEATER OF POLTRONE"
Matteo Salvini attacks at full speed in the post-consultation press conference: "We were quick, precise, direct and honest to the end with the President of the Republic, to whom we expressed the bewilderment of millions of Italians in front of the armchair war theater which has been going on for days. The President of the Republic asked for a project and a large majority. They probably found the candidate for Prime Minister in Biarritz on the recommendation of France and Germany. However, the harshest words are not against former allies, but against the Democratic Party. “The minority is in Parliament, but above all it is in the country. Millions of Italians are wondering what is the point of voting if they then return to the government with Palazzo maneuvers. Dignity would like us to go to elections ”, continues the leader of the Carroccio.

GO ITALY: WRONG AND INADEQUATE PD-5S GOVERNMENT, BETTER ELECTIONS
"In our opinion the Government which the Democratic Party and the 5 Star Movement intend to give life to is wrong and inadequate to face the problems left on the table by the outgoing Government because Italy needs a liberal and liberal revolution” So Silvio Berlusconi at the end of his conversation with the President of the Republic.
On these bases Forza Italia has confirmed its willingness to "give the word to the people", asking to go to the elections.

Berlusconi then sent a message to Salvini: “The center-right without us will never be able to win and will never be able to govern. Forza Italia will still be the fulcrum of the centre-right, a centre-right far from any form of sovereignty and populism".
PD: OK CONTE PREMIER, BUT NO TO THE RELAY
"We have expressed our support to the President of the Republic for the attempt to form a new government", confirmed Nicola Zingaretti in the press conference following the meeting with the head of state, Sergio Mattarella. “We have accepted the proposal of the M5s to indicate the name of the President of the Council of Ministers. We have also resolutely confirmed to President Mattarella the need now to build a government of change and discontinuity for this country". Words with which the Democratic Party officially announces that it has said yes to the Count up to, but does not make any reference to the figure of the deputy prime minister or deputy prime ministers, the real subject of the negotiations in the last few hours. As a counterweight to Conte - whom they consider an expression of the M5S and not a third party - Democrats are calling for only one deputy, expressed precisely by the PD, while the grillini would like two deputy prime ministers again, with the possible confirmation of Di Maio in that role.
“In recent days we have defined an initial common political contribution of guidelines to be offered to the president in charge. There is no relay to continue, nor witness to collect. If anything, there is a new challenge to begin, the beginning of a new political and social season”.
