Turin Startup Week returns at the end of June

From 25 to 28 June at the Officine Grandi Riparazioni (OGR) in Turin, entrepreneurs, startups, companies and institutions will gather for the Torino Startup Week, a format event by Techstars, a global leader that supports the growth and development of startups. Turin will host this event of international importance already organized by Techstars in more than 60 cities around the world such as Los Angeles, Sydney, Taipei, Bangkok, Mexico City and Dublin. With thousands of participants expected, most of them under 35, the four days will include over 100 meetings: success stories will be presented at the OGRs, with discussions and international panels on innovation, alongside focus groups and workshops on topics such as smart mobility, blockchain, big data and artificial intelligence. Furthermore, moments of B2B comparison will be organised.

All with the aim of promoting and enhancing the innovation ecosystem, connecting the local community with the global network. Among the speakers are the founders and top management of over 60 companies from Europe, America and Asia, including IBM, Silicon Valley Bank, LIFTT, Roboze, Digital Magics, Endeavor, Iceland Venture Studio, Startup Iceland, Lanieri, Pininfarina , Rocket Internet and Alpitour. The week will open on 25 June at 11.30 with a panel attended by the promoters of the initiative: Jenny Lawton, COO of Techstars, Alberto Anfossi, Secretary General of Compagnia di San Paolo, Massimo Lapucci, Director General of OGR and Secretary General of Fondazione CRT, Maurizio Montagnese, President of Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center. Davide Dattoli, founder of Talent Garden, will also take part in the opening.

Turin Startup Week is the first concrete action of the partnership announced at the beginning of June between Techstars, Compagnia di San Paolo, Fondazione CRT and Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center to foster a new international innovation hub. The partnership aims to promote the development of the city of Turin as an international ecosystem for innovation and its affirmation as a model of successful innovation in Italy and in Europe and provides for, among the various initiatives, the launch of a program three-year acceleration program on the topic of Smart Mobility managed by Techstars, which will be located at the OGR. The launch of this program will be preceded by the Global Summit 2019 (September 22-26) which will bring together founders, corporate partners and thought leaders belonging to the global Techstars network in Turin for a week of meetings, debates and matchmaking.
