Turin, piazza S. Carlo: hanger investigated

Chiara Appendino is being investigated for the facts of the Champions League final on 3 June. This morning the Turin prosecutor served notices of guarantee for the tragic evening of 3 June 2017 in Piazza San Carlo in Turin, costing over 1500 injuries and the death of 38-year-old Erika Pioletti: the accusation is, for all the suspects, of complicity in manslaughter.

Among the recipients of the provision, in addition to the mayor of the M5S, also the commissioner Angelo Sanna. It was the mayor herself who confirmed that she had received the guarantee notice: “A few minutes ago I was served a guarantee notice for the events in Piazza San Carlo by the Turin Public Prosecutor's Office. As always, I will offer full cooperation to the investigators, since it is in the interest of all citizens that the facts be reconstructed and everyone's responsibilities defined ". Appendino is accused of manslaughter in "cooperation" with other people. You will soon be questioned by the magistrates.

The investigation, coordinated by prosecutors Antonio Rinaudo and Vincenzo Pacileo, made it possible to identify the long list of errors in the organization of the event and in the management of the emergency. The notices of guarantee also concern the mayor's former head of cabinet, Paolo Giordana (forced to resign on 28 October last from an interception in which he asked to cancel a 90 euro fine to a friend), and some managers and officials of the Municipality such as Paolo Lubbia. On the police front, the head of the Cabinet, Michele Mollo and the director of the Central Commissariat, Alberto Bonzano, who coordinated the forces of order in the square that evening, also received an invitation to appear.
