Turin-Juventus, it's derby fever

High-altitude derby in the shadow of the Mole Antonelliana. Because, for once, Juventus and Turin won't play for city supremacy in the usual spin. In fact, the fact that the Lady commands the ranking is nothing new, that the grenades are in seventh place, in the midst of the fight for Europe, but yes. Of course, the gap between the teams remains quite evident (the bianconeri have 27 points more) but this time there is the sensation of a different game, if nothing else more open. A lot will depend on the attitude of Toro, who usually locks himself up under the attacks of Juventus: this time however, given the decidedly more relaxed position in the standings, Ventura could also afford a more unscrupulous attitude. He would benefit from the show, but perhaps not the grenades. In fact, the leaders have by far the best attack in the championship (59 goals scored, 11 more than Roma) and the arrival of Osvaldo only increases their danger. Even the Toro, however, defends itself well, given the monstrous season of Immobile and Cerci. Ironically, Ventura's two strikers are more or less linked to the Bianconeri. In fact, the young Ciro is co-owned (let's expect a nice derby on the market too), while Conte likes the winger like crazy, who could try the sensational rudeness in the summer.

But even in Juve there is a bit of grenade: Angelo Ogbonna, former captain of Turin, should in fact be regularly on the pitch. Coincidences and curiosities that light up the derby della Mole even more, if ever there was a need. Born as a clash between industrialists (the Agnelli family) and workers (many grenade fans worked for FIAT), the Turin derby has almost always been an unequal challenge on a technical level, but not without surprises. Until the mid-90s, the grenade heart managed to make up for the gap several times, then, also thanks to the decline of the Bull, the twists and turns became increasingly rare, until they disappeared completely. In fact, the last surprise dates back to 14 October 2001, when Lippi's Juventus, leading by 3 goals, recovered to 3-3, complete with a missed penalty from Salas due to a hole dug by Maspero. It was that, together with the 2-2 on 24 February 2002 (but it was there that the black and whites equalized in the final, complete with Maresca's provocative exultation), the last satisfaction collected by Toro. Who hasn't picked up a point in the derby since 26 February 2008 (0-0), hasn't scored a goal in 12 years and hasn't won in 19 (1-2 signed by Rizzitelli). Seen like this, there really would not seem to be a story, but woe to say. In fact, never before has the derby of Turin (the number 188 in official matches, the 165th in the championship) seemed to be different than usual this year.
