Turin: here is Lagrange12, the first Pininfarina design residence in Italy

An unprecedented residential reality is being born in the heart of Turin: within the reconversion project of the historic building between via Lagrange and via Giolitti, by the Building group, there will be “Lagrange12”, first residence in Italy with interior design by Pininfarina.

The one signed between Building and Pininfarina is a completely “made in Turin” communion of intents, both engaged in projects oriented towards creation of icons and landmarks that express eras and territories, with the aim of generating a beauty that lasts over time. A project with which Pininfarina brings for the first time to Italy, to its city, a style of living that it has already successfully exported all over the world, from the United States (the 1100 Millecento luxury condominium in Miami and the real estate complex in luxury Beachwalk in Hallandale Beach, Florida) in Singapore (the Ferra luxury condominium, which won the “Object of Desire 2013” award), up to the imminently launched residential projects in Brazil.

The interiors of the prestigious building a stone's throw from Piazza San Carlo will therefore live in a historic structure restored to its original elegance by the architects of the Building group who have followed the same concept of returning living spaces to the city enriched by artistic elements, which had already inspired them in the recovery project of Valperga Galleani Palace, in via Alfieri 6. For this building, renamed The Number 6, works of contemporary art had been commissioned from Richi Ferrero, which can still be enjoyed thanks to the opening of the courtyard to the public.

The Lagrange12 residence has a neoclassical layout, on a pre-existing seventeenth-century structure, with unusual details due to the internal restructuring interventions of the second half of the twentieth century, including a flat roof that offers a 360° panoramic point over the roofs of Turin. Thanks to this intervention, the building returns to its original stateliness by the end of 2015, offering the city the total renovation of the six floors above ground and the two underground. In the total area of 3500 square meters there will be seven exclusive apartments, a penthouse, and a large size boutique on two floors, a European-inspired luxury house.

“In this intervention we wanted to enhance the Turinese ability to deal with the contemporary, which creates wonderful fusions between historic and modern parts, respecting the valuable nature of the places and enriching it with innovative artistic incursions” he underlines Piero Boffa, managing director of the Building group.

"Our roots in Turin and the strong bond with the local area have led us to join the team that will carry out this extraordinary project" he declares Paolo Pininfarina, Chairman of the Pininfarina group. “Lagrange12, thanks to the unique combination of an elegant historical architecture and a refined and innovative interior design, is a candidate to become a new emblem of tomorrow's Turin, joining other design icons created by Pininfarina for the city, such as the Turin 2006 Olympic Torch, the Olympic Brazier erected next to the Olympic Stadium and the interiors of the Juventus Stadium”.
