From 2 to 18 October, from Monday to Friday at 17 it will be possible to participate in very interesting meetings that will tell the story of design through objects. Iconic objects resulting from the ingenious minds of designers who have conquered a prominent place in the global furnishing panorama since the 50s.
Tuesday October 8 2019 at 18 there will be a meeting with the Italian-Iraqi architect and fashion designer Hussain Harba.
Hussain was born in Babylon in Mesopotamia and studied architecture at the Turin Polytechnic, the city where he still works and designs today.
The designer will analyze his projects with us, ranging from furniture to fashion, from armchairs to handbags.
He will tell us about his reinterpretation of the "Joe" armchair in the shape of a large baseball glove made in honor of Joe di Maggio by Italian designers Jonathan De Pas, Donato D'Urbino, Paolo Lomazzi in 1970 and produced by the Italian furniture company Poltronova, is now reinterpreted in a contemporary key by designer Hussain Harba.
In addition, the Mini Home handbag will be presented, which represents "the home" for the modern woman, and her armchair.
Tuesday 15 October at 18 Dr. Giovanna Castiglioni, daughter of Achille Castiglioni and vice president of the Achille Castiglioni Foundation in Milan will be the protagonist of a meeting that aims to celebrate the history of Italian design through the projects of the Castiglioni brothers.
Born from the ingenuity of the Castiglioni brothers and created by Flos, Arco is the first arc lamp in the history of design. But how was this iconic object conceived, which is still one of the most famous and best-selling products in the world today? This and much more will be told through objects and anecdotes by Giovanna interactive with the public.
