“CRISTINA MITTERMEIER. THE GREAT WISDOM” is the title of the exhibition which opens today, March 14th in Turin at the Gallerie d'Italia museum of Intesa Sanpaolo

Turin: Cristina Mittermeier at the Intesa Sanpaolo Gallerie d'Italia

The exhibition is the artist's first retrospective in Italy and is curated by lauren johnston in collaboration with National Geographic and presents an exhibition of around 90 photographic works.

Cristina Mittermeier is a shooting, Marine biologist and activist who, over the years, has documented the beauty of our planet, from landscapes to wildlife to the different cultures and traditions of the populations who live in symbiosis with nature.

The exhibition itinerary

It concerns three major themes of the underwater world, the terrestrial world and tribal peoples, developing the artist's idea of ​​"enoughness" inviting the viewer to reflect on a more sustainable and conscious existence. Through his photographs he bears witness to traditions, rituals and knowledge handed down from generation to generation and invites us to reflect on the "great wisdom" underlying the world.


To inaugurate the events, a double meeting with Cristina Mittemeier scheduled for Thursday 14 March: at 17.30 pm

Also in this new project, the Gallerie d'Italia in Turin narrates the present with the positive force of photography, capable of involving and speaking to many audiences, confirming the important social role that a current, lively and open museum has. "
