Turin, Creativity Objects turns 18 and presents JACK

“JACK dystopia in white red black gold” is the speech by Pastore and Bovina for Elica which, from 26 October to 23 November 2019, will be set up in Via Carlo Alberto 40/fa Turin, headquarters of Creativity Objects, concept store and reference point for Applied Arts and contemporary jewellery.

Creativity Objects, to celebrate its 18 years, therefore chooses Pastore and Bovina on which it has already focused the spotlights in 2001 and whose union has continued ever since. JACK is the dissection of an idea of doing, the study of a special anatomy applied to ceramics, textiles, jewellery, chocolate.

An exhibition dedicated to contamination which, for Pastore and Bovina, is not only a state of being, but also the modus operandi of the last 25 years. For the occasion, the duo will perform with some artifacts, from the best known to unique site specific pieces.

JACK implies the remote hypothesis that fantasy can overcome reality by modifying it: makers of various types and genres try more than others. Shepherd and Cow with Propeller are among these, a team of seekers in the "contaminated" forest of Applied Arts and design. JACK are also the intersections with the special still life by Federica Cioccoloni who cut, with her lens, ceramics and fabrics, those designed by Pastore and Bovina for Arcolaio, an excellent Italian manufacture, with a single sweet note, perhaps: the chocolate dissected by chef Andrea De Bellis. The exhibition will also feature music and video with a digital artefact created by Fabio Fiandrini.

"Tuning in with one's own time - commented Pastore and Bovina - with the transitory nature of things, an impulse to transformation, to illusion, are among our attitudes: the border between art, design, fashion, painting, theater ... must always be porous , because "... with usury there is no church with frescoes of Paradise" (Ezra PoundCanto XLV). The principles mix and multiply and, in the end, it's just a question of observing the process, the path taken by those who do it, and the stories told in this journey: it is always the idea that makes the difference. Searching for a language, inventing your own font to write new stories, intimate private personal stories, what you keep hidden. Without priests and confessors there are psychologists, or doing with the hands. Externality versus appearance. Abuse and contamination. Decoration as a mutation, like the skin of a "body" defenseless in its daily reality, a hostage body of a preconceived idea of beauty, a body enveloping cells, a support body for clothes, a body as a narration of oneself: balance and beauty?».
