The crime in the context of the investigation into the former Westinghouse area, for a 'phantom' debt of 5 million euros to Ream which disappeared from the 2016 budget – The mayor: "Ready to collaborate".

The mayor of Turin, Chiara Appendino, is being investigated by the Turin prosecutor's office for forgery in relation to the 2016 budget. The crime in the context of the investigation into the former Westinghouse area, for a 'ghost' debt of 5 million euros to Ream who disappeared from the 2016 budget. The investigation had been opened in recent months following a complaint by the opposition group leaders Alberto Morano (Morano list) and Stefano Lo Russo (Pd).

"I am absolutely serene and ready to collaborate with the judiciary, certain that I have always pursued the interests of the City and the Turinese with the utmost rigor". This is how Appendino comments on the warranty notice. "I wish to be heard as soon as possible in order to clarify all aspects of a complex matter relating to the identification of the budget year to which to charge a debt that this administration has never wanted to hide".

The investigation by the Turin prosecutor's office also concerns the head of the cabinet, Paolo Giordana, and the councilor for the budget, Sergio Rolando. The hypothesis is that a debt of 5 million to the Ream company has been expunged from the balance sheet of Palazzo Civico. An operation that would have matured without the knowledge of the auditors, who, in July, in turn forwarded a report to the prosecutor's office.
