Top Utility 2021: Hera first for inclusion and diversity

On the occasion of the presentation of the IX edition of the Top Utility report, which analyzes and enhances the evolution and performance of the 100 major Italian utilities every year, the Hera Group it has stood out for its commitment to the issues of diversity and social inclusion. While Marche Multiservizi - a public-private company from Pesaro - is the best in terms of sustainability for environmental management and corporate social responsibility policies.

Gender equality, protection of diversity and inclusion: these are central themes of the Hera Group's strategy and corporate culture. So much so that it won the Top Utility award in the Diversity category "for its commitment to policies in favor of diversity, inclusion and social responsibility".

Proof of this are the meritocratic systems designed and measured to guarantee real application, with compensation tools and benefits focused on performance, role complexity and comparison with the market, regardless of gender or generational characteristics, and career paths that see a growing percentage of women with positions of responsibility, equal to around 30% today.

The multi-utility's commitment is also demonstrated by other recognitions such as certification top employer, achieved for the 12th consecutive year and which also in 2021 confirmed the first place in Italy for the Hera Group. Furthermore, Hera is present in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index and among the top companies in Refinitiv's Diversity & Inclusion Indec.

While MMS in the "Sustainability" category stands out for having achieved growing performances in terms of environmental sustainability and social responsibility, continuing to integrate sustainability into its business strategy. The recognition adds to the one already obtained in 2012 in the "Territory and consumers" area and adds to the Absolute Top Utility award received in 2016.

“We are committed to making the Hera Group a place where everyone can feel “well” and included – he said Susanna Zucchelli, Diversity Manager and Water Director of the multi-utility – where everyone feels able to contribute to valuable projects that enrich the communities served, aiming at quality, promoting collaboration and dialogue”.

“A company that even the younger generations can look to with interest for their future careers – concluded Zucchelli – Receiving these awards gratifies us, motivates us and encourages us to do even better, to make the company a real subject enabling the dissemination and integration of these issues into the social fabric."

“We are very proud to see our commitment to sustainability rewarded – declared the Chairman, Daniele Tagliolini and Chief Executive Officer, Mauro Tiviroli -. We have worked to transfer benefits to the community, making synergies, economies of scale and communicating with our stakeholders with the utmost attention to the local area. The reporting of the "shared value" margin, i.e. the portion deriving from business activities that respond to the objectives of the UN Agenda, is a concrete example of how the local area is at the center of our attention"-
